Repairs and Maintenance

There are certain tasks which are common to all mowers, regardless of make and model. Here are just some which we provide:

Routine servicing: Oil and filter changes/cleaning, which can be every 50 to 100 hours, depending on usage and environment. Steering lubrication, tyre and battery/charge checks, deck level adjustment, idle/mixture adjustment, function tests and tolerance checks. The basics to make sure a mower is in good running order.

Blade, bearing and belt replacement: These are the most common replacement items on all types of mowers. Due to the extreme stresses experienced by the cutting system, these components wear out much faster than other parts of the machine and require regular replacement.

Tyre puncture and leak repair: Thorns, nails, sharp objects and failed leak sealants are the common culprits. Sometimes tyres begin to leak due to age and failing rim seal, and require a tube to overcome this. Rims sometimes need to be stripped and painted inside due to rust.

Electrical repairs: Charging and starting issues are common, especially for mowers that are exposed to any level of moisture in their operation or environment. Diagnosis and repairs to wiring, connectors and components are usually straight forward and effective.

Deck repairs and welding/reconstruction: This is the hardest working part of a mower. It receives frequent impacts, intense vibration, heat stress to bearings and belts, shock loading and corrosion. All of these can be fixed by part replacement, welding, metal section fabrication, manual alignment and adjustment.

Engine and transmission faults: Loss of drive, blown or leaky gaskets, internal damage, fuel blockage or contamination, or complete rebuilds and replacements. All these can be remedied with new parts, machining or suitable replacements.

Painting and refinishing: Parts and panels with extensive rust and surface damage can be stripped to bare metal and refinished to give them a second life and often superior protection from the factory finish.
