If your mower is looking and sounding past it’s used-by date, chances are it can be restored at a reasonable cost and given a second life. The steps outlined below give an overview of what is involved, and results you can expect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first step is an overall assessment of the condition of the mower, parts that may be needed and necessary repairs to the body and cutting deck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mower is then stripped down to a bare chassis and parts are sorted for cleaning, stripping and further work and finishing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The chassis is cleaned, repairs carried out, then prepped and painted for reassembly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Body panels and parts are also stripped, primed and painted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Welding and fabrication are performed on the cutting deck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After cleaning and painting, new blades and spindles\/bearings are installed if needed, then belt and guides are installed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reassembly begins, with new or used parts as needed. At this stage, the engine and transaxle are tested for faults. Tyres have tubes installed if necessary and the electrical system is installed and tested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once completed, the mower is taken out for testing. A full function test is performed, ensuring that everything is working properly. The images below show typical results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
